Can you tell when someone is lying in an interview?
Butch Steinle was bornand raised in Casper, Wy and graduated from Kelly Walsh in 2000. Butchgraduated from University of Sioux Falls with a Bachelor of Arts degrees inCriminal Justice and Sociology. During school, Butch began a career in incriminal justice by serving as a Corrections Officer in South Dakota StatePenitentiary. While supervising maximum security and death row inmates, Butchlearned that deceit ran rampant as inmates would lie about seemingly mundanethings. This is what grab his interested in the study of people. He ponderedwhat landed people in a life sentence or worse, and what separated thelaw-abiding citizen from a choice that may alter one’s life path sodrastically.
Shortly after college,Butch moved to Dallas Texas where he was hired as a police officer and spentthe next 15 years as a patrolman. Meeting people daily and conducting thousandsof interviews where he would try to “sell” jail time by getting confessions. One strong tool that led to asking the right questions was learning throughexperience to observe people’s physiological responses. Butch has continuedpursuing courses in body language and human observation. Butch worked countlesshours working with detectives during forensic interviews in both adults andchildren while on the force.
Butch is co-owner ofGuardian Response Consultants out of Texas. He is married to his high schoolsweetheart with whom he shares a son with. In his free time, you can catchButch hunting, guiding, fishing, or remodeling houses.
