As our workforce gets older, and millennials enter the work force, we as employers are faced with several challenges.  How do we share the knowledge and expertise of our current workforce with the newer, younger employees?  How do we best utilize workers “50 and better” who are not ready to completely retire, but may be making career transitions?    Penny Fletcher, Wyoming SHRM Workforce Readiness Chair and Denise Rodriguez, FHRA Workforce Readiness chair, worked with the Cheyenne community to answer these and other questions.   They will share their processes,  lessons learned and answer questions about how to implement a similar program in Casper.

Denise Rodriguez is a Workforce Specialist-Business Services Representative for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, a position she has held for almost nine years.  Prior to moving to Cheyenne she spent six and a half years at Employment Services of Weld County.  She has been a member of the FHRA board since 2016, and currently serves as the Workforce Readiness  chair.

Penny Fletcher has been an HR and Training professional for over 25 years.   After a career in public education, she made the transition to Human Resources in 2004.  She holds both PHR and SHRM-CP certifications and is a certified Lean Leader.  She is currently the Human Resources Manager for Little America Hotel and Resort in Cheyenne, WY.  She is also active in the Human Resources organizations in the state, serving as President for the Cheyenne SHRM affiliate; Workforce Readiness Chair for Wyoming SHRM.  She also co-chairs the Southeast Wyoming Workforce Advisory Group.
