Joe Nickerson is the Crime Prevention and Public Information Officer for the Casper Police Department. He manages media relations and helps administrate social media for the department. He does interviews for local media outlets and public speaking on request. He gives presentations to various groups on law enforcement, general safety, and crime prevention. He works with the community to coordinate law enforcement resources for outreach and prevention programs.

 Officer Nickerson is an Evidence Technician, Police Training Officer, Crisis Intervention Team member and Hostage Negotiator.

 Officer Nickerson has 5 years’ experience with the Casper Police Department. Prior to working for the Casper Police Department Officer Nickerson was a Deputy Sheriff in Missouri for one year. Prior to that he worked at a private boarding school for troubled youth where he helped to implement security measures including an active shooter lock down policy.
