It seems like Social Media is a hot topic everywhere these days.  The realm of employment law is no exception. It is constantly changing and evolving, just like social media itself.  This session will discuss some of the laws employers need to be cautious of, and the latest laws and regulations on this topic.  The National Labor Relations Board has taken a strong stance on many issues affecting social media, even for non-unionized employers, and it is important employers be aware of this.  Come and learn the latest information about social media and its effects and implications in the workplace.

Christine Kuehnast received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Colorado State University.  She received her law degree from the University of Colorado.  After law school, Christine clerked for two Colorado District Court judges in Fort Collins.  After clerking for the Court, she was an associate attorney for a Fort Collins law firm.

In 2007, Christine joined Mountain States Employers Council, which is a not-for-profit employer’s association that provides assistance to employers in the areas of human resources, labor and employment law, compensation and benefit data, and related training.  Christine regularly counsels employers in all areas of employment law compliance and has advocated on their behalf before a variety of state and federal agencies.  Christine has taught classes on many employment law topics, and given briefing sessions regarding new FMLA regulations and the new ADA Amendments Act.

Christine works in MSEC’s Northern Regional Office and is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Wyoming.  She also received her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation in 2011.
