This session, designed by the Society for Human Resource Management, guides participants through the Advocacy process.  Participants will learn the importance of advocacy in the formation of public policy and how they can become involved.  The session highlights the importance of building relationships, staying educated and the importance of informing others.  Additionally, participants will learn the best approaches to staying educated; such as, researching voting history, familiarizing oneself with the issues, understanding and knowing the bill and most importantly, being able to tell how the bill will have an impact on the individual in a personal manner.
