    Sarah Barthel, Registered Dietitian

I have always had a passion for health and nutrition, this enthusiasm was sparked by a chance encounter with a Registered Dietitian while I was attending high school.  Thru sports scholarships, my academic career was taken to Chadron State College.  In 2002, I graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Food and Hospitality Management.  From there, I was able to utilize this degree in a skilled nursing setting while attending the University of Wyoming dietetics program.  I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Dietetics. I continued on to receive a Completion of Accreditation of Dietetics Education from the University of Northern Colorado rotating 1100 hours on the floor at Ivinson Memorial Hospital and Albany County Women Infant Children Program.

I have been able to find a unique opportunity to collaborate my passion of nutrition and health and clinical practice.  I am a Clinical Registered Dietitian II for Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, sub-acute hospital setting.  I also consult for Central Wyoming Hospice and Transition Program as needed.  My practices include: enteral/parentral nutrition support, medical nutrition therapy and modified diets, integrating therapeutic principles, patient and family diagnosis specific education and palliative care.    I look forward to evolving and growing in the medical world as science and technology continue to advance.
